CyberSport provides a compelling yet easy approach for insertion of tied-to-the-field 3D graphics, animations and videos. Regardless of camera movement, the inserted object maintains the illusion that it is an integral part of the event. 3D graphics are rendered in real-time, according to the camera’s tracking parameters, enabling graphics to always be in the exact camera perspective.
Enhancing the broadcast feed
CyberSport provides a series of plugins, each with unique features for various sports. For example, the soccer plugin contains a 9 meter distance indicator, a dynamic and static offside line, team formation and logos, scores and stats, virtual jumbotron and much more. Additional plugins are available for other sports including swimming, athletics, basketball, tennis, American football, baseball, horse racing, and more.
The game analysis tool allows the assignment of any graphic object to any moving object on the screen. Highlighting the players as they move, emphasize ball trajectories, marking defence lines, and any request from the commentator can turn into a graphic enhanced replay immediately.
Virtual advertisement
More and more broadcasters and rights holders are realizing the potential revenue stream that can be generated from virtual advertisements. The virtual advertisement application converts the playing field into an advertising media platform. 2D/3D graphics and video animations are seamlessly drawn tied-to-the-field, so even when the camera pans, tilts or zooms, the graphic object remains in its original position. Virtual advertisement is the ideal tool to target specific audiences and generate additional revenues from sponsorships.
Virtual advertisement can take the form of virtual carpets that are superimposed at the boundaries of the playing field, as 3D graphics sequences, or even as a video stream of an ad that is inserted into the playing field.
CyberSport can be integrated with a dedicated clip player that can provide more than 4 hours of clip storage with an alpha channel, enabling an unlimited amount of pre-rendered graphics and video clips.
Powerful and simple to operate
CyberSport is an intuitive and simple-to-use system, tailored to accommodate fast reactions and other specific needs of sports broadcasting. In addition to supporting both SD and HD productions, only a single operator is required, and system setup is short and simple. CyberSport includes an embedded 4-zone chroma keyer that was developed specifically to cope with the harsh environment of outdoor productions. Even in extreme lighting conditions in which part of the playing field is cloudy and the other is sunny, a different chroma key zone can be dynamically applied to each area, ensuring high-quality graphic overlays.
CyberSport supports multi camera productions. For example, during a football game in addition to the main "tracked" camera, the two 16 meters cameras can be tracked providing a perfect angle for laying an offside line. Interfacing with databases is also supported by CyberSport, which allows easy management of large amounts of data. This is particularly important during athletics, skiing or swimming events in which considerable numbers of athletes participate.
CyberSport can be integrated with all common slow-motion video servers. Such integration provides unique replay and game analysis features including; drawing
dynamic offside lines, measuring ball speed or highlighting certain events with a digital magnifying glass.
Superior camera tracking
Precise camera tracking is the foundation for perfectly matching the playing field and the overlaid graphics. CyberSport benefits from both sensor-based tracking as well as image tracking. Orad's image tracking extracts tracking data from the video in real-time, negating the need for presence in the venue. The system may be installed in a studio miles away from the actual venue and 3D graphics can be overlaid onto the down-streamed video signal.
An additional key factor for a successful event is a short and efficient camera calibration process. In a matter of minutes, CyberSport is up and running, providing accurate camera tracking for a wide range of both box and ENG lenses.
